Razer Online Series PVP Tournament Overview

Phew, the Razer PVP Tournament is finally over! Some teams were happy with their results, some sad as they did not perform up to their expectations. Well well, you guys did gain some great experiences at the end of the day!
Let’s start off with the Amateur series: What can I say? Most teams are very new with tournaments. They may not be as organised as the teams from the Pro series, but they’re improving along the way :)

The most recognised team in the Amateur series has got to be “MintCandy”. They were one of the semi finalists during the Alienware Arena PVP Tournament from Singapore months ago! Great team work and individual skills! :D
“Pedobears” performed pretty well too even though it’s their first time in the competition and they managed to win three rounds during their match with “MintCandy”.

Let’s proceed to the intense fights from the Pro Series! Most teams performed very well against one another; not giving in to each other and always trying to find ways to counter their tactics.
If you observe the bracket results, the match results are very close. One mistake and they may lose the match!
One team member from “Quaelum” told me his most intense moment was from their first match when the score is 4-4; “it was so intense!”

Personally, the most intense and exciting match was the Semi-Final Match of “Japalang” vs “Rocket”, both semi-finalists from Singapore during the Alienware Arena PVP Tournament. “Rocket” seems to be the greater threat after “Vatican” proceeded to Finals then.
Unexpectedly, they lost the match :( I was getting so worried after “Japalang” won three rounds and “Rocket” with none as shown in the picture below.

This was the time when I started to notice “Japalang” seriously. “Rocket” was too spread out during the contact while “Japalang” had great teamwork clearing their enemy members one by one.

“Rocket” leader, brocolli, said, “Japalang was a shocker to us (lost 5:0). We’re impressed with their teamwork and their timing of their skills/focus targeting. We applied their same tactic for our next match with some degree of success and even managed to clinch the 3rd place!”
“Don’t be complacent and keep trying new strategies/tactics because at every level cap increase the game dynamics shift and change. We have to adapt or prepare to be eliminated.”

The most important match that decides the champion for the Razer Online Series: Vatican vs Japalang.
Previously, both teams fought against each other in a previous match with a score 5:2. This time round “Japalang” trained hard enough to advance to the Finals, winning three rounds instead of two previously.

Vatican on the other hand maintained their standard and emerged as Champion once again with their superb team work.
So what has Vatican got to say? One member commented, “My team was worried about how well Rocket will perform. Unexpectedly, Rocket lost to Japalang and my team mates were not prepared for them at all. We were really nervous then.”
Well, I felt Vatican did really well to handle their worries and claim the Champion title. Congratulations! :D

Discussing more on the tournament, “Quaelum” feedback, “We have a bunch of very competitive guildmates. I’d like to thank Mr. Addison Kang and Shanda Games International for giving us a chance to compete in competitions like this. This will also boost players’ eagerness to train more to compete and I hope Dragon Nest SEA will be available in WCG in the future!”
Wow, I really hope to see Dragon Nest SEA in WCG too! XD
brocolli from “Rocket” mentioned, “If an inter-server (example, Westwood VS Springwood) competition is possible, it will boost the interest in PvP and competitiveness greatly! Spectator slots should be increased to 8 as there are many fantastic match ups missed out due to the lack of slots.”
Fully agree! With more slots, more players can witness the competition live. Interesting suggestion. :)

He also added the game has so much content to be explored and not just about grinding! Community support from Shanda Games has been great as it gives a personalised touch to gaming (e.g. Mr Addison Kang sharing his thoughts through his Facebook Page) and that itself is an edge over international titles such as SWTOR/WOW. He also feels that more GM organised content, such as collaborations with guilds to conduct in-game events, will be great.

In conclusion, every team has its strength and weaknesses. Always look out for your enemies and take note on their weaknesses. Train more with your team mates and discover the strength of your own team too. Don’t be conceited. Hehehe. :D
Lastly, “pace yourself; breath in the experience and enjoy DN-ing!”
Hope to see you guys in the upcoming tournaments! XD
